Some fine sea trouts found their way to the banks of Eyjafjörður River today. Kristján Gylfason and his son, Gylfi had the later shift and caught five fish who turned up to be quite the catch. The biggest one being 88 cm next 78 cm, then 76, 74 and 62 cm. The fishing season is off to a good start despite the cold snaps up north since the river opened. Fishermen have had deal with slush and at sunset the river´s surface freezes over. In the light of these conditions the board of the angling club has decided to change the fishing period for the spring from 7 a.m. – 13 p.m. and 16 p.m. – 22 p.m. to 8 a.m. – 14 p.m. and 15 p.m. to 21 p.m. Fishing permits are available at https://www.veiditorg.is/veidileyfi/eyjafjardara
